Suomen Oppihistoriallisen Seuran matka-apurahat 2024

Suomen Oppihistoriallinen Seura hallinnoi vuonna 2013 perustettua Oppihistoriallista rahastoa, joka edistää alan tutkimusta jakamalla apurahoja ulkomaille suuntautuvia tutkimus- ja konferenssimatkoja varten. Oppihistoria kattaa laveasti seuran hengen mukaisesti eri tieteenalojen, tiedon ja tieteellisten instituutioiden historian.

Apuraha on suunnattu ensisijaisesti joko väitöskirja- tai post doc -vaiheessa oleville tutkijoille ja se on käytettävä yhden vuoden kuluessa myöntämisestä siihen tarkoitukseen, johon se on myönnetty. Seuran hallitus tekee päätökset apurahojen saajista hakemusten tieteellisen ansiokkuuden ja toteutettavuuden perusteella. Seuran hallitus ei perustele päätöksiään. Seura voi julkaista apurahan saajien nimet sekä apurahan käyttötarkoituksen ja myönnetyn määrän omilla verkkosivuillaan ja sosiaalisen median kanavissa. Vuonna 2024 haettavana on yhteensä 3000 euroa, josta yksittäisiin hakemuksiin voidaan myöntää enintään 500 euron suuruisia apurahoja. Hakuaika umpeutuu 29.2.2024.

Apurahaa haetaan lähettämällä hakemus yhtenä pdf-tiedostona seuran sihteerille (sihteeri@oppihistoriallinenseura.fi). Hakemuksesta tulee ilmetä selkeästi, mihin tarkoitukseen ja kuinka suurta apurahaa haetaan. Hakemukseen tulee liittää korkeintaan kolmen sivun mittainen tutkimussuunnitelma, tutkimus- tai konferenssimatkan budjetti ja rahoitussuunnitelma sekä ansioluettelo, josta käy ilmi hakijan yhteystiedot sekä kahden suosittelijan nimi ja yhteystiedot. Konferenssiapurahan kohdalla hakijan on esitettävä myös tieto siitä, onko hänet jo hyväksytty puhujaksi konferenssiin. Mikäli tätä päätöstä ei vielä hakuajan aikana ole, myönnetään apuraha ehdollisena ja sen maksaminen edellyttää päätöstä konferenssiin hyväksymisestä.

Apurahan saaminen ei edellytä jäsenyyttä Suomen Oppihistoriallisessa Seurassa. Apurahan saajien edellytetään kuitenkin esittelevän hankettaan Seuran kuukausikokouksessa yhdessä Seuran hallituksen kanssa sovittuna ajankohtana. Apurahan saajan tulee toimittaa myös korkeintaan sivun mittainen selvitys apurahan käytöstä seuran hallitukselle kolmen kuukauden sisällä apurahan käyttämisestä.

Travel Grant of the Finnish Society for the History of Science and Learning 2024

The Finnish Society for the History of Science and Learning administers a fund, established in 2013, which promotes research in the field by awarding grants for research-related travel and conference attendance abroad. History of Science is understood here broadly; it covers the history of various academic disciplines (including humanities, social sciences etc.), history of knowledge, and scientific institutions. This broad scope of possible topics reflects the spirit of the Society. These grants are primarily targeted at researchers who are either in the dissertation or post-doctoral phase, and the grant must be used within one year of the award for its intended purpose.

The society’s board makes decisions on the recipients of the grants based on the scientific merit and feasibility of the applications. The board does not provide explanations for its decisions. The society may publish the names of grant recipients, the purpose of the grant, and the amount awarded on its website and social media channels. For the year 2024, there is in total 3000 euros available for application and each awarded grant may be a maximum of 500 euros. The deadline for the applications is 29 February 2024.

Grants can be applied for by sending an application as a single PDF file to the secretary of the society (sihteeri@oppihistoriallinenseura.fi). The application must clearly state the purpose for which the grant is being requested and the amount desired. The application should include a research plan of no more than three pages, a budget and financing plan for the research trip or conference, and a CV that provides the applicant’s contact details and the names and contact details of two referees. For a conference grant, the applicant must also provide information about whether they have already been accepted as a speaker at the conference. If this decision has not been made by the application deadline, the grant is awarded conditionally, and payment is subject to the decision about acceptance into the conference.

Membership in the Finnish Society for the History of Science and Learning is not a prerequisite for receiving a grant. However, grant recipients are expected to present their project at a monthly meeting of the Society at a time agreed upon with the Society’s board. Within three months of using the grant, the recipient must also submit a report of up to one page detailing the use of the grant to the society’s board.

Finlands Lärdomshistoriska Samfunds stipendier för forskning- och konferensresor år 2024

Finlands Lärdomshistoriska Samfund förvaltar den Lärdomshistoriska fonden som grundades år 2013 och som främjar lärdomshistoriska forskningen genom att dela ut stipendier för forsknings- och konferensresor utomlands. Lärdomshistorien omfattar i allmänhet, i enlighet med Samfundets anda, forskningen om olika vetenskapsområden, kunskap och vetenskapliga institutioner. År 2024 är sammanlagt 3000 euro ledig att sökas, och för enskilda ansökningar kan beviljas stipendier på högst 500 euro.

Fondens stipendier är i första hand avsedda för doktorander och post doc -forskare. Stipendiet ska utnyttjas inom ett år från beviljandet och måste användas för det ändamål det har beviljats för. Alla stipendier beslutas av Samfundets styrelse på grund av ansökningarnas vetenskapliga förtjänster och genomförbarhet. Samfundet motiverar inte sina beslut. Namn på stipendiemottagarna, ändamålen som bidragen beviljats för och belopp kan publiceras på Samfundets webbplats och sociala medier.

Stipendier söks genom att sända ansökan i form av en enda PDF-fil till Samfundets sekreterare (sihteeri@oppihistoriallinenseura.fi). Av ansökan ska tydligt framgå för vilket ändamål och hur stort stipendium som söks. Till ansökan ska fogas en forskningsplan på högst tre sidor, en budget och finansieringsplan för forsknings- eller konferensresan samt en meritförteckning av vilken framgår sökandens kontaktuppgifter samt namnen på och kontaktuppgifter till de två referenserna. När det gäller konferensstipendiet ska sökanden också ange om han eller hon redan har godkänts som talare vid konferensen. Om detta beslut ännu inte finns under ansökningstiden, beviljas stipendiet villkorligt och utbetalningen av det förutsätter ett beslut om godkännande till konferensen. Ansökan ska lämnas in senast den 29 februari. Alla sökande informeras om besluten i slutet av mars.

För att få stipendier krävs inte medlemskap i Finlands Lärdomshistoriska Samfund. Stipendiaterna förutsätts dock presentera sitt projekt vid Samfundets månatliga möte vid en tidpunkt som överenskommits med Samfundets styrelse. Ytterligare ska en stipendiat inom tre månader efter det att stipendiet har använts tillställa föreningens styrelse en utredning på högst en sida om användningen av stipendiet.
